Fanshu Geng

B.S., Environmental Engineering, Shandong University, 2022

Research Interests: I am interested in the biotransformation of organic contaminants in aquatic systems. My research will focus on the (bio)transformation of polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFASs) under different redox conditions. I am interested in studying the formation, transformation, and removal of trace pollutants and the prediction of pollutant levels in water bodies through simulations and mathematical modeling.

Susannah Powell

B.S., Environmental and Agricultural Sciences, University of Arkansas, 2016

Research Interests: I’m interested in the remediation of micropollutants to improve drinking water. My research will focus on the adsorption behavior of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) to diverse minerals under varying water conditions. The motivation for this research is to improve environmental fate models of PFAS and guide the development of site-specific technology to optimize their removal.

Amber Li

B.S., Civil and Environmental Engineering, Auburn University, 2022

Research Interests: I’m interested in engineered processes to remove per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) from water. My research will focus on the development of alternative regeneration solutions for different adsorbents and management of concentrated PFAS waste streams arising from adsorbent regeneration
